Future MILF Weigh-In: Week 3

It was a sad, sad week in the world of MILF attainment--gained back 2.6 of the 2.8 pounds I lost last week. We had a big night out last Friday--drinks, appetizers, dinner, dessert. I tracked all of those points and used about half of my flex points for the week. The food was great and the company was better. I wish I'd shown some restraint but plate cleaning is hard to unlearn. The middle of the week went pretty well, exercising, writing things down and then I just kind of fell apart, cheesecake, buckeyes, donuts. Not 3 pounds worth of calories certainly but enough to throw me off course. I am obviously retaining water, I could barely get my rings on this morning. Probably the motivation I need to get back on track and take this thing seriously!

There are some sobering articles in Good Housekeeping this month on women and heart disease. It made me think of my family history--both of my Dad's parents had triple bypass surgery, my Mother's mother had a heart attack, and her brother has stents. Not a great track record, something I need to control now to try and stave off later.

This week I will work out at least 3 times again. I will stay away from the sugar. I will eat my fruits and vegetables. I. Will. Get. Back. On. Track.

Damn, that's rough. I'm going out tonight and I'm not going to deny myself some drinks, but I'm already sweating it.

My buckeyes are in the freezer...but I'll be damned if they don't taunt me each and every friggin night.

I think you'll do just fine this week. I won't wish you good luck b/c I don't think you'll need it. :-)

Sorry babe. But you're right the company was well worth it :) We'll just have to workout a bit harder after the girls go to sleep ;)

Mama M, you can do it. I know you can. And baby steps is comprised of two forward and one back - let it go and get back on track.

Now, what the heck is a buckeye? I am off to google it...

This is a buckeye http://allrecipes.com/recipe/buckeye-balls-i/detail.aspx

It is a wonderful peanutbutter ball, dipped into chocolate that looks like a buckeye from a tree.

I went to the neighborhood ladies meeting the other night and they had trays of them. One of my very favorite candies of all time and after a glass of wine my impulse control was severely limited!

Damn, sorry that we sabotaged your diet last week! I know what you mean, though...it seems like I give myself a day of leeway and then it's downhill from there. Blech!

You will totally kick ass next week, though...I mean it!

You can do it! Don't worry.

Do you have the WW tips about how to handle going out and being surrounded by great (and high fat, high calorie and probably high salt which causes bloating) foods?

Those have really helped.

You went down, and you will again! GL!

I know it sounds cheesy but this truly is a journey not a race. Keep on keeping on!
